Fashion & Design Academy 2010

In August and October 2010 the Berlin plattform Fashion Patrons is organising for a second time a Fashion& Design Academy for young creative start-ups.

TOP5 Start your Fashion Business 2010

Top 5 Fashion Show & Award Ceremony. A high-ranking jury including Christiane Arp (Vogue Germany), Diane Pernet (ashadedviewonfashion) and Melissa Drier (Womenswear Daily) selected the best Berlin fashion labels from over 100 applications. Berlin´s TOP 5 designers present their collections Spring/ Summer 2011 in WMF Berlin on the 9th of July 2010. Afterwards the competition winners will be nominated.

CHINA – A Chance for Young European Designers 2010

The panel discussion focused on current developments and new trends on the global fashion market. While international fashion companies increasingly open their design offices in metropolis such as Shanghai and Beijing, Chinese fashion labels with European design talents set new accents on the local market. ‘In a matter of ten years, the Chinese have made the transition from Karl Marx to Karl Lagerfeld, from Mao suits to Mui Mui’ Angelica Cheung editor of Vogue, China.

Esmod Graduate Fashion Show 2010

Esmod Berlin presents a symbiosis of the most diverse styles in fashion. Young designers of the ESMOD International Fashion School Germany Berlin present their 2010 diploma collections in different disciplines.
The individual collections embody universality, Zeitgeist, detailed contradictions, hesitation, curiosity, seduction and passion. createurope: THE FASHION DESIGN AWARD 2009

createurope: THE FASHION DESIGN AWARD is a European competition for young fashion designers and fashion design students. The competition is an initiative of the Goethe-Institut, in cooperation with EUNIC Berlin. Patron of the project is Dirk Schönberger, Creative Director at Joop! The competition´s main goal is to network young fashion designers and fashion students from all over Europe. In 2009 for the first time, young designers from the Middle East and North Africa were also invited to participate.

InFashion II 2009

The themes of the Asia Pacific Weeks 2009 were mobility and energy. Key issues such as progress, speed and sustainability will be discussed in an intercontinental encounter between Asia and Europe. These are highly relevant issues for the fashion industry with much of its production being based in the Far East. This event will explore how the aesthetic and cultural spheres tackle these crucial questions. The 3-day event with showrooms and shows was a great success for all involved – designers, specialists and visitors.
